After also taking part at Ventura Lambrate at Milano Design week in 2012 and at the DMY- Design Festival in Berlin, MYK has been recognized since then from an international audience and started to get customers all around the world from Hong Kong to Los Angeles.
MYK is a merging of creative ideas inspired by fashion, art, and interior design. The objects comprise the intention of soft sculptures and interior art. Each single one is meticulously handcrafted in Germany and being of unique nature. The materials and the skilful processing are subject to the highest quality standards. For the designer it is very important to work with extraordinary value of materials in consequence of years of professional work as a fashion designer. The wool suppliers are from Italy and most materials are sourced from Germany and also Europe. All the handcrafting work like crochet, knit, embroidery, braiding, pompon bundling and cutting is done from handcrafting women around the country and Berlin. Lots of them are from Turkish origin. They have their dignified manual skills passed down generations. The converting of the vintage furniture, MYK also uses for some objects, requires a manufacturing with an established carpenter and upholsterer also based in Berlin. MYK-objects are certified and get a serial number. Some of them are one of a kind and some are limited to small editions. Meanwhile the pompon- collection has grown and is complemented by fashion accessories such as bags and charms. At the end each single object is sculptured and handcrafted, and even the smallest accessory is completed by the designer Myra von Busekist herself and her assistant in MYK´s studio, located in one of Berlins most creative part Kreuzberg.
